The Lord’s Prayer

Recently I was reading in Luke chapter 11– the prayer that was to be the templet for prayer that Jesus gave His disciples to pray. I felt impressed of the Lord to see what the original Greek said, and it is so much better than our translations. Here’s what it says:

Our Father who is positioned in heaven venerated is Your Name, authority, and character. Your kingdom and rule come. Your purpose, will, and desire be brought to pass in the same manner and by all means as in heaven–even so SUPERIMPOSED over earth. Give to us beyond measure day by day our subsistence that is needed–our daily bread. And forgive us our sin because we ourselves forgive ALL that owe us, ALL that morally fail in duty, ALL that are guilty toward us. And lead us not into adversity, but rescue us away from the hurtful, the evil, the calamitous, disease, illness, and harm.

To realize we can pray that heaven is superimposed over earth is worth the translation alone. And we know that whatever we ask for in Jesus’ Name is ours. (John 14:14) We need to start using that tool right away.
